Turkey Day Wine Ideas on SA Living!

How do you do Thanksgiving? One of the most common questions I get every year is which wines are best on the big day. Well I have some ideas–from the traditional to ‘outside of the box’ choices to cure your holiday wine rut! 😉

A good Turkey Day wine should pair well with dessert. See our killer Pumpkin Cheesecake below! Both Boudro’s & sister bistro Zinc are open on Thanksgiving Day this year. Expect fun and exciting new menu twists from Executive Chef Robbie Nowlin. He recently shared the recipe for a Texas Quail dish he’ll be offering the week of Thanksgiving…

Chef also spilled the beans on two more holiday dishes you can try at home – a Pâté de Campagne (similar to a country style foie gras) w/ incredible mustard seeds from Taste Elevated, and an over-the-top Pumpkin Cheesecake with Chantilly cream and a Toffee Streusel:

— Trimbach Gewurztraminer (dry, rich, well-balanced)

You can dine in or take out Rudy’s Bar-B-Q on Thanksgiving. About $40 gets you a mammoth of a meal (which looks something like this) good for 8-10 people. You can’t have enough of their famous Creamed Corn:

    Have been trying to find Truth wine in the cab. HEB only has a red. Is that it? I even asked the wine specialist at HEB
