New Year’s Eve dinner at Potente will be unique this year following the Houston Astros World Series win. Astros and Potente owner Jim Crane invites guests to bring in the New Year with a festive celebration and to have a professional photograph shot with the Houston Astros World Series trophy. Guests can order from Chef Danny Trace’s indulgent New Year’s Eve prix fixe menu. Dinner is $125 per person and includes a complimentary glass of Moët & Chandon Champagne and four decadent courses, including the spaghetti al tartufo nero with burgundy black truffles shaved tableside. In addition to its regular menu offerings and hours of operation, Liberty Kitchen will feature the following items to close out 2017: lobster bisque sherry butter with mini brioche grilled cheese ($14), surf and turf deluxe filet mignon, shrimp and mushroom fondue, tempura Maine lobster tail and aged soy glaze, scalloped potatoes, and jumbo asparagus. They will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Killen’s Steakhouse will be offering a dinner menu on New Year’s Eve for $85 a person including delicious appetizers like jumbo lump crab cake and kurobuta pork belly and entrees like chicken francese ad lobster rockefeller! More details.
Killen’s Barbecue and Killen’s Steakhouse will also be offering holiday takeout, including your favorite barbecue staples like whole briskets, 1/2 and full pans of side dishes, and 1/2 and full pans of desserts. Killen’s will also be making homemade tamales with a Snake River Farms chopped brisket mixture. The tamales are made fresh on Wednesdays and will be sold until supplies run out each week through the holidays. They’re available first come, first served for $20 per dozen.

To help Central Texans kick off 2018 on the right foot after those late-night New Year’s Eve celebrations, all COVER 3 locations in Austin and San Antonio will offer brunch on Monday, Jan. 1, which is normally reserved for Saturday and Sunday mornings. The full brunch menu will be available that morning from opening at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., including the popular U-Mix-It Bubbles and Bloody Mary Bar. The traditional lunch and dinner menus will also be available throughout that Monday until close at 10 p.m. as COVER 3 will be screening each of the NCAA 2018 College Football Playoff games that afternoon and night (includes Georgia vs Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl at 4 p.m. & Alabama vs Clemson in the Sugar Bowl at 7:45 p.m. CT).
