Grab a glass and get ready to pop corks on some affordable and unique bottles, thanks to our friends at H-E-B! In this weekend’s NEW episode of Goodtaste, we share three big and bold, must-try bottles.
First off, the Bread and Butter Chardonnay. This chardonnay is a classic California wine. It is aged in French and American oak, which means you will taste rich notes of vanilla, almonds and pears with an almost creamy finish. This wine is perfect for roasted chicken, a creamy pasta, or bacon-wrapped grilled shrimp! $15
Next, one of everyone’s favorite varietals: pinot noir. This is the Boen Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir from the highlands of central California. Because of the warmer climate there, you’re going to get a darker fruit flavor. Think juicy cherries, plums, and even blueberries, plus some spice. This bottle is perfect for any upcoming parties. $28
OK, die-hard cabernet fans, it’s time to break out of the box. Single red varietals are trending big right now like this Donati Family Vineyard Cabernet Franc. Cab francs are usually used for blending, but are becoming popular drinking wines all by themselves. Cab francs are lighter bodied than cabernets and have fewer tannins. You’ll taste purple grapes, plums, blackberries, and even dark chocolate. This wine is also easy on the wallet and very food-friendly – it pairs beautifully with all kinds of meat. $20
As always, you can find these wines and more at your local H-E-B. Bonus: When you buy six or more bottles, you’ll get 10% off your whole wine purchase!

thank you for doing this segment for your viewers. I am not typically an alcohol drinker of anything so when I am invited somewhere where the host asks me to bring wine I don’t panic I just go to Goodtaste Uncorked and look at the description and the price and then I know what to do and where to go.

You should feature wine list in accordance with TV programs for better reference, web site confusing??
Looking up wines featured on TV program 5:30AM 14th Oct. 🙁

Richard-That segment won’t be posted until Monday. Our TV episodes are posted here the Monday after they are broadcast. Hope that answers your question. This weekend’s wines were Tievoli, a red blend, Love Noir, a red blend and Amici Rosé. Hope that helps 🙂
