The hits keep on coming from Pericos. Incredible Mexican cuisine from one of San Antonio’s most beloved families in the restaurant biz. I’ve known the Reyes clan for years — I’m one of their biggest fans — and with five locations in and around the Alamo City (three Pericos, two Panchitos), Russell Reyes tells me it’s the passion for providing the ultimate dining experience that continues to drive their long track record of success.
Pericos Mexican Cuisine is a locally-owned family business that provides customers quality food and drinks, along with the unique and personal care they will tell stories about. Step inside any Pericos and the atmosphere is an extension of the Reyes’ family home. You are always made to feel like the guest of honor. And excellent, authentic Mexican food made from scratch daily only adds to the allure.
Did I mention the award-winning margaritas as well? You’d be hard-pressed to pass on one of these frigid delights, especially during Happy Hour! Here are just a few of the standout menu items you’ll find…
Caldo de Res
Delicious homemade beef (or chicken) & vegetable soup. Served with Spanish rice.
I’ve been eating their Chilaquiles for a LONG time…
Chilaquiles w/Cheese
Corn tortilla strips mixed with three fresh scrambled eggs. Topped off with smooth melted American cheese and Ranchero sauce. Served with potatoes and refried beans.
Usually known as a pastry, these empanadas filled with seasoned picadillo started off on Pericos catering menu only and quickly became available at the restaurants too, once demand skyrocketed!
Empanadas
Ground beef stuffed tortillas lightly fried to a flaky crisp. Complimented with a chile con queso dipping sauce.
A newer addition to the menu, seafood options like Tilapia or Salmon aim to be a healthier choice for customers. They’re a particularly big hit at the Sonterra location!
Salmon
A six ounce cut of fresh fish grilled to perfection. Topped with your choice of Veracruz, Seafood, or Cilantro sauce. Served with Spanish rice and Charro beans.
And finally, a flagship entrée…chargrilled LEAN chicken breast. Always a solid choice filled with superb spice and flavor!
Chicken Fiesta Dinner
Diced chicken fajita grilled with pico de gallo, served on a bed of Spanish rice, Charro beans, guacamole, lettuce, and tomatoes.
