Haven is a little piece of heaven in Houston. The food is delicious which should come as no surprise. Chef and owner/partner Randy Evans was previously the chef at Brennan’s. Haven’s patio is truly one of the prettiest I’ve seen. Chef Evans sources local ingredients for his creative fare. This Texas strawberry salad is an example of fresh at its best. The dressing is made with fresh Texas strawberries, rice vinegar and olive oil. It’s topped with a goat cheese crostini and candied pecans from, where else? Texas! The best part of this salad is that it’s simple to make.
And here’s something else that’s neat – Chef Evans shows us how to saber the cork of a bottle of sparkling Rosé. This might not be something you want to try at home, but it’s fun to see his technique. Check out the video. Cheers to Haven!
