Having just returned from a welcome retreat to Wine Country, I can tell you – now’s the perfect time to go get lost on the West Coast! We’re entering a GORGEOUS time of year for out there…the air cool and crisp, the scenery exploding with indescribable color. The time of year growers and wine makers live for!
All month long we’ve been celebrating totally terrific tomato salad recipes, in honor of the ever-popular heirloom tomato. There are numerous varieties that come in all different shapes, sizes and colors, which in turn only add to the diversity and depth of flavor!
When I stayed at the Mondavi’s recently, Rob and Lydia took Mike and I to lunch at their Folio Enoteca in the public market in Napa called the Oxbow. The food was fabulous! I’ll never forget the delicious tomato salad. I asked Rob if I could share the recipe with you, and always the nice […]

We make every Farmer’s Market we can out here and cook freshly picked produce each night. We stumbled upon the coolest ‘tomato stand’ in Sonoma. Look at the sign closely – noone was manning the booth – you […]
What a fun weekend! Rob and Lydia Mondavi recently invited me to their ‘Crush for Beauty’ event in Napa. It’s a big day because Rob harvests the cabernet grapes from his Osso vineyards for his wine, and Lydia uses everything but the grape juice for her 29 Cosmetics.
The entire wine world was saddened this spring by the passing of Robert Mondavi. He was a visionary – a passionate, innovative entrepreneur who created the most famous winery in California.
